Why Did We Break Up - 5 Reasons Why Relationships Die

After a relationship ends, a lot of people wonder why did they ever break up. There are many reasons why your ex broke up with you.

Relationships are like delicate plants; they need nurturing if they are to survive. So, if the relationship you are in means the world to you, you need to be aware of the most common reasons why people break up.

Lack of intimacy: Wait! Before you jump into wrong conclusions, let us not confuse intimacy with sex. You may be having a great time between the sheets, but you may not be having enough intimacy. Intimacy is that spark which gives you a sense of being in a secure relationship. It is in the unexpected meeting of eyes, in sharing work and play, in holding hands and in just being there for your partner when they need you emotionally.

Falling in a rut: Boredom is a deadly killer of relationships. When two people meet, there is a lot of excitement. There are new things to learn, a lot of fun things to do and talk about. After some time, this novelty fades. At this point, the relationship loses its sparkle.

Communication gap: If you believe that communication is talking, think again! You may talk all you want and still communicate nothing! Communication is letting the other person know what is going on in your mind. It is also listening to the other person with total dedication.

Unresolved quarrels: Quarrels are healthy for a relationship, if they are resolved in a healthy manner and if they yield something that nurtures the relationship. However, when quarrels end bitterly, it gives way to rancor, hurt and pain. These feelings fester and spell doom for the relationship.

Lack of space: There is such a thing as too much togetherness, and it can be deadly. A relationship that denies people their personal space will hit the rocks sooner or later. When partners begin to feel that they need to compromise too much or give up activities they enjoy for the sake of the relationship, they may leave the relationship.

Most of the time, a relationship dies because people do not want to discover the real reasons behind their problems. So, they ignore the symptoms and carry on as if nothing is wrong until it is too late. The good news is that you can stop a breakup from happening or even get your ex back if you really want to.
